After working in the corporate world, I fell prey to the demands of a busy lifestyle with too little sleep, too much stress, a highly processed / junk food diet, a lack of exercise and not enough time for my family & friends. As a result, my health began to deteriorate. Feeling unhappy & overweight and suffering from depression and IBS symptoms, I recognised that if I failed to change my habits, I was facing a crisis.
So I embarked upon a journey of healing and self-discovery. Using detoxification, superfood nutrition, Shiatsu Massage, Yoga, Meditation and exercise in the form of Karate, Tai Chi & Te, I began to re-build my physical and mental health. Over a period of 10 years, not only did I rehabilitate myself & gain qualifications in these holistic arts, I learned valuable lessons that I knew I wanted to share with others.
Taking a huge leap of faith, I moved from England to Thailand (where there was a good reputation for health spas) and embarked upon a career as a Wellness Manager at a well-known detox centre. After 1 year of employment, I recognised that we did not share the same values and philosophy and I knew that I wanted to set up my own retreat where I could put the needs of people verses the business first. Fete must have been smiling on me as I met Gee (my now beloved husband) during this year and with our joint skills, knowledge and passion, we were able to build and then open Samui Detox in 2005.
Following the growing success of Samui Detox and our desire to reach out and help more people, we decided to expand the business but rather than enlarging our Samui retreat which would destroy the intimacy and beauty of this venue, we decided to venture into new territory – so Chiang Mai Detox was born…
Understanding the demands of modern life, we have created Chiang Mai Detox as a safe haven for people. Here you can rest, heal & rejuvenate in a homely environment. Detoxing is a great catalyst for change, whether you want to change how you feel or look or whether you wish to change your thoughts, habits, behaviour or job!
Every day as Program Manager here in Chiang Mai, teaching, speaking, meeting and working with the guests is so inspiring. The changes I have seen and continue to see in the guests is what we are offering to you, if indeed, you are ready for a positive change in your mind and body? We look forward see you soon!
“Truly Kim is the young Mother Teresa of the detox world (without the wrinkles). She takes in the unfit and the unclean and generously gives her personal, timeless attention, love & wisdom and provides us with the knowledge and tools to extend and live a more fulfilled way of life. From the bottom of my heart, thank you”
I have been working in the tourist industry for over 20 years (in a variety of positions including Resident Detox Spa Manager to Restaurant Entrepreneur. Witnessing the deteriorating health of the foreign visitors, I realised that by developing an ‘Integrated Detox Centre,’ I could help people learn the benefits of traditional Thai / Asian healing techniques to support and improve their health and quality of life.
I hope to share with you my knowledge of Thai Cuisine, Asian Exercise, Thai Herbal remedies and Thai Massage. My philosophy is to make things easy & simple and I hope that by joining us, you will enjoy “Simple food, Simple Exercise & Simply taking care of Yourself.”
“Gee & Kim, what a truly wonderful team you make. I have been totally looked after in every way and thank you from the bottom of my heart for your patience, love & support. You have my utmost respect. After completing 2 other detox programs in Thailand, I can honestly say I have learned more and enjoyed my experience here far more. Thank you”
“You are two amazing people. Words cannot express my thanks to you both. You are true professionals, dedicated to your work with passion. You pour your hearts into your beliefs and leave no option but success.”

I have been a sporty person since I was young and enjoyed a variety of sports such as, volleyball, badminton and swimming. All the sports, not only helped me be a stronger and healthier person, but also my love of exercise has led to me being a yoga teacher.
I started learning yoga in 2013 with a Thai teacher in Chiang Mai. I learned various styles of yoga such as Vinyasa, Hatha , Breathing, Yin, Ashtanga, Kundalini, Gentle, Meditation and immediately fell in love with yoga. I knew I wanted this to be a big part of my life and after I finished the course I taught for my teacher’s studio for a while. In 2014, I wanted to step up a level, so I completed the RYT 200 hours course at Vikasa, (The Yoga Evolution) in Koh Samui with Kosta Miachin.
Nowadays, I teach yoga at various places around Chiang Mai including, Sansaran Sport club, Ananda Yoga studio, Yoga tree and some private classes.
I believe that practicing yoga allows us to go inward and to see where we are stopping a naturally peaceful state. It helps us see where we are limiting ourselves in our habits and beliefs, helps us find true freedom and happiness whilst keeping our bodies healthy.
Ying began her yoga journey in 2013. Since then, she has been practicing and teaching various types of yoga.
Ying is a very skilled teacher who adapts to the needs of the class she is teaching. She teaches detox and stretching classes with a focus on breathing. She is also a certified masseur and she incorporates this in her classes, adjusting her students as and when needed.
Ying’s style of teaching is designed to make her students feel deep inner peace with their mind, body and spirit.
